Cornelia Beskow – Soprano

This redhaired beauty looks quite like I did in that age. Maybe I could use her as my Avatar…..Cornelia Beskow, a Swedish soprano,  took her solist exam from Opera Academy in Copenhagen 2012. As her exam she made Donna Elvira in   Don Giovanni and Tatjana in Eugen Onegin. In December that same year, she had her debut at The Royal Theatre (Copenhagen) as the Male fox in Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen directed by Francesco Negri under musical guidance by Thomas Søndergård. She has also been seen at the Ystad Opera as Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana. Summer 2103 she sang Wellgunde in the critically acclaimed  version of the Rhine Gold at Dalhalla directed by Marcus Jupither and Patrik Ringborg as conductor.

Cornelia has a great interest for romance interpretation and was the Vadstena Academy’s ”Lieder artist in residence”-stipendiate 2011.She has had many appreciated romance concertoes in Sweden and Denmark. In June 2013, she made hon Wesendoncklieder in Tivoli’s Concert Hall in Copenhagen with the Lyngby-Taarnby Symphony Orchestra under guidance of Per-Otto Johansson.

The opera solists at the Royal Opera of Stockholm rewarded Cornelia with the Joel Berglund-stipendium in 2010. She has received several study stipendiums from among others the  Anders Sandrew’s foundation, The Education Foundation of the Telephone Director H.T. Cedergren and the Royal Danish Music Conservatory.

In  2011, she was chosen Christina Nilsson stipendiate of the Royal Musical Academy. In June 2013, she received the Sixten Gemzéus’ stipendium.
